Our Philosophy
The objective of Westwood Middle School Activities is to promote equal participation, teamwork, skill development, and good sportsmanship with the intent of engaging students in life-long participation in activities while representing Spring Lake Park School District in a positive manner. Westwood Middle School, Community Education, and Anoka County offer a variety of extended day programming opportunities for students. These activities have both an academic and enrichment focus. Most of the activities will have a fee. If you have any questions about middle school athletics, please contact:

Registration packets can be obtained in the middle school office or counseling office. They can also be printed by clicking the links above (athletic forms, activity bus and physical forms) and bringing the completed packets into the counseling office during business hours.
The following sports are offered at Westwood Middle School:
Winter Sports Update
Boys Basketball will begin on Monday, January 9th - please bring the following items to the first practice
1. Please download and complete the 2011-12 Registration Packet (if this is your 1st sport of the year)
2. Please download and complete the 2011-12 Physical Forms (if this is your 1st middle school sport)
3. If this is your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th sport of the year, you only need to fill out the Assumed Risk Agreement and Emergency Card
These forms include:
$150.00 - First Participation
$125.00 - Second Participation $100.00 - Third Participation $75.00 - Fourth Participation Any student who qualifies for free or reduced lunch shall also qualify for free or reduced activity fees. No fee or ½ fee, respectively. Documentation is required. Middle School athletes will pay the middle school rate for all middle school sports and the high school rate if participating on a high school team. Registration for a high school team must be done at the High School Athletic Office.
All middle school students playing high school sports must pay the high school fees for participation.
There are several high school sports that allow participation from middle school students. Registration for these sports takes place at the High School Athletic Office. Click here to visit the high school athletics & actvities page.
Fall: Cross Country (Boy’s & Girl’s), Boy’s Soccer, Girl’s Soccer, Girl's Swimming, Girl's Tennis
Winter: Girl’s Gymnastics, Boy’s Swimming, Girl’s Hockey, Nordic Skiing Spring: Softball, Baseball, Golf (Boy’s & Girl’s), Boy's Tennis
The middle school offers a variety of Clubs, Targeted Services, Community Services, Gifted Services, Academic Support and Preforming Groups:
Fee:
$20.00 per trimester or
$50.00 per year
Limited bus stops are available.
There are three buses, one North route, one Center route, and one South route with pre-determined stops. The students must show the bus driver their activity bus pass upon boarding the bus. Bus passes can be purchased in the counseling office.
Busses will leave the middle school at approximatley 4:40-4:45 pm Monday-Friday. Please check the updated bus routes listed below for the appropriate route for your student.
