Lighthouse Program Entrance Criteria

 
Grounded in best practice research the selection process for program entry reflects a multi-dimensional perspective. Employing a team of evaluators, made up of the program coordinator, staff members and administrator, the committee will review the following student performances:
 
The Assessment Portfolio Elements
  • Achievement test scores
  • Ability test scores
  • Products of independent performances
  • Written teacher recommendations
  • Interview by selection team
  • Example of student writing
  • Evidence of special interests or successes
  • Grades from previous schools

 
Upon completion of the assessment of the portfolio items, a recommendation will be made for admission for the selected candidate. Candidates' parents will be notified through the mail. Upon acceptance to the program registration will be complete.
