OEC Program Recent News

Recent impressions on SLP OEC program:

My name is Robert Andrews. I am a first responder and emergency communications technician from Rochester. I worked at the Medtronics Marathon earlier today. For the day, I was assigned to work with the various team members of the SLP OEC Program. I must admit, before today, I have not heard of this type of program. However, after spending the day with the leaders and various levels of students, I wanted to pass on my observations to you.

Your team worked extremely well together. They showed the utmost levels of professionalism while dealing with patients ranging from small to complex medical issues. They were kind and showed a level of "bed side manner" (as much as you can in a field) that I have seen lacking in other professional EMTs in Rochester. Even without direct leader direction, they provided excellent service and were an asset to the safety of all at the event.

This type of event provided an excellent view of real world training and I was glad they were there to assist and learn. I would gladly serve with them at future events. As a former public high school teacher, I can appreciate what it takes to make a program like this work. Great job Dave and Bill!! Keep up the excellent level of education.

Sincerely - Robert
