Spring Lake Park High School is in the second year of researching and piloting a program on assessing student learning and reporting progress, or “the grading pilot” as it has been called.

Ultimately, the results of these efforts will be to improve common procedures for the reporting of student learning and career and life skills beginning next school year.

At the Feb. 9 School Board meeting, Frank Herman, principal, and Matt Meier, a social studies teacher and task force member, answered questions and offered a progress report and explanation of these efforts to date.
