On Thursday, Feb. 18, the Spring Lake Park High School Mock Trial team beat Park Center High School by two points, the narrowest of margins, in Round 4 of the Minnesota Mock Trial Program regional playoffs.

 

The team is now headed to Round 5, the regional final. 

 

The regional final is on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the at Hennepin County Government Center.  Spring Lake Park's opponent will be Breck, last year's state runner-up.  The winner of this match will advance to the March 9-10 state competition.

 

What exactly is Mock Trial?

 

The Minnesota High School Mock Trial Program is a law-related program that introduces students to the American legal system through opportunities in education, competition, personal growth, and achievement.  Participants exercise their critical thinking and teamwork skills, as well as the basic skills learned in the classroom.
