About Girls Minnesota High School Bowling (GMHSB)
- 2011 was the league’s inaugural season and saw 22 teams competing statewide. League officials expect the league to grow to 35 – 40 teams in 2012.
- Girls Minnesota High School Bowling is for girls who are currently in 7th – 12th grade. All league competition is baker-system, meaning that five bowlers each bowl two frames to complete a single game. It is a very exciting format for both players and spectators.
- The regular season will run from mid-January to March, with the state tournament taking place on April 15th.
GMHSB is a club sport administered by the Bowling Proprietors Association of Minnesota. League rules have been modeled after those of the Minnesota State High School League.
- The Spring Lake Park team will practice on Monday and Thursday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. at Blainbrook.
- The bowling team will be sponsored by Blainbrook Bowl. Team members will have to pay a participation fee of $75.00 to Blainbrook Bowl. This fee will cover the cost of uniforms, practice time, and conference competition for the 2012 season.
- Spring Lake Park bowling team will bowl in the Metro North Conference with Cretin-Derham Hall, North St Paul, Blaine, and Cambridge-Isanti. Competitions will take place on Saturday afternoons at various bowling centers in the north metro area.
